Industry Competence Committee ICC

The Industry Competence Committee (ICC) was formed under the Building Safety Act 2022 to provide strategic leadership, assistance and encouragement to facilitate the improvement of competence in the built environment industry. It advises both the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) and industry on matters of competence. Its objectives are to:

Members are appointed through a recruitment process that includes a written application and an interview. They should be able to demonstrate their ability and experience in improving competence in the industry. Members are appointed for 3 years. The committee membersduties including attending ICC meetings every 2 months, and other working group meetings. Helping gather advice for, and contribute to, developing advice on competence. They also attend events and meetings on behalf of the committee to communicate advice.
